Analysis of three different Artist's Webpages (including Coldplay)

Coldplay's website is very simple and basic in terms of its layout. The first thing the user sees is 'Coldplay Timeline' which takes the user to Coldplay's released albums in chronological order. This is a good thing to have as the first thing on a website since it educates users who aren't necessarily Coldplay fans on the band's history, therefore making the user more aware about what Coldplay is about. Another thing to note is that every piece of text is outlined in a multi-coloured border; this is Coldplay's signature colour combo, and it became so particularly after their album 'A Head Full of Dreams' dropped in 2015. All the latest Coldplay news is listed at the bottom of the home page, with the same multi-coloured border around each piece of news. Clicking in either the top right or top left takes the user to a menu where they can select which page of the website they want to go on. All the pages follow the same house style with the black background, multi-coloured border around text etc.

Stormzy's website is a bit more complex and detailed than Coldplay's website although it is still easy on the eye. The house style of Stormzy's website is a mixture of dark green and black, with the theme being ever-present throughout each page of the website. Upon clicking on one of the pages listed on the left side of the home page, the pictures/text/videos (etc) on the chosen page drift into view; as mentioned before, it is easy on the eye and simple but it still works for the website. The website covers all the things which Stormzy would want; there is a store, there is a page about his tour dates, there is a page about his latest music, there is a page dedicated to his hit song 'Superheroes' etc.

Calvin Harris' website is also quite simple with regards to the design/layout of the website. The first thing the user sees is the home page which simply lists Calvin Harris' most recent songs. The other pages (which are listed at the top in the menu) are what you would expect from that of a typical artist's page; a page about tour dates, a page about their store, a page about his song releases, a page about subscribing to the website etc. As with the previous two websites, Calvin Harris' website follows one of the typical codes/conventions of a website which is to have a consistent house style.
